River and Sky (Music / Camping Festival) has a really exciting location change planned for this year. Last year Piebird supplied garden greens for the musicians/volunteers, we are so excited for the 'new' River & Sky this year!!!

Wasi Cross Country Ski Club has wonderful groomed trails and beautiful bush. We usually just crash around the forest here, but when we have a hankering for groomed trails Wasi is wonderful!

Outdoor Activities:

• Canoe portions of historic Voyager routes, through unchanged waterscapes
• Borrow from our Bicycle Stable and cycle the riverside country roads or paddle your Mountain Bike across the creek and pedal up to secluded Duck Lake which overlooks Lake Nipissing's South Bay
• Cycle or hike the Old Nipissing Road Trail, past farms long fallow and silent. Or trek other trails in the Forgotten Trail system
• Go swimming off the government dock at Chapman's Landing
• If you're of the type, there's fishing on Lake Nipissing, South River, or at Chapman's Chute
• Hike or paddle nearby Restoule Provincial Park
• Stroll the grounds and gardens or walk the quite country-roads

• For the Bird Lover: Bring your binoculars and observe the action around the Osprey and Bald Eagle nests at mouth of river. Enjoy the calm awakening of early morning yard-bird songs from the veranda, or sit by the river with your tea and watch the Mergansers and Great Blue Herons spend their dawn by the sunny shores
• Kick through puddles of leaves while on a fall foliage hike through the maple forest
• In the spring see spawning fish jump up Chapman’s Chutes
• Have your picture taken at Chapman's Chute with a monster sturgeon as part of a MNR fundraiser (Spring)
• Visit Commanda Country Gardens

• Tour the local artisan and crafters; Potters, painters, woodworkers, blacksmiths, country gardens and many more!
• Find treasures at the many antiquing opportunities
• Visit and explore the small local towns
• Stay for one of our Country Craft Getaways (choose your day and choose your project: cob oven building, soapmaking, baskets, working with birch bark)
• Take your Book Club up to Piebird for a weekend!

• Stay for a homegrown vegetarian supper or one of our private healthy-eating workshops
• Becker’s Berry Patch is right next door to us. In early summer, pick your fill of strawberries and enjoy a pie or two!
• When the sap starts running, take part in our Maple Syruping - the old fashioned way
• Nancy down the road runs Chapman's Landing Cooking Studio out of the Chapman farmhouse
• Tour the local farmer’s markets
• Help gather from the garden for a supper at Piebird

Take a packed lunch and head out to the mouth of the river, then go for an afternoon swim and a bike ride along our riverside country roads. Enjoy the starry night around campfire cooking bannock. ...or just sit all day and read a book in the garden.
