During a farmsstay you will shadow us in whatever daily events and chores that need doing -- this is like living intensive workshop -- for up to 4 or 5 hours a day (more if you want but it's not expected!) Examples of things to do throughout the season: planting, harvesting, barn duties, weeding, canning, washing veggies, yard maintenance, animal care and feeding, fence mending, seed collection, herb collection & drying, firewood splitting, assisting in building projects. You will help us harvest and prep for our meals together. There will be lots of free time for you to explore the area and relax-- Like a retreat with purpose. Moving your body in the fresh country air and learning the ins-and-outs of self-sufficiency living.

Most of the "packages" people book at Piebird are either private workshops or FarmStays. Workshops around healing with herbs, dietary transitions, vegetarian cooking, vegan baking or gardening are very popular. FarmStays are like extended workshops where your fun and learning becomes multidisciplinary.
