- An experienced gardener or enthusiastic eager-beaver
- Fun loving but not a party-maniac
- A turkey kisser, goat hugger, chicken admirer and cat worshiper
- Handy, or resourceful, or mechanical, or domestic ...or a quick learner
- Able to take direction and work alone or with many animals staring at you and/or standing on your tools or pecking at your pockets
- Easily entertained by the necessary basic skills of "simple living" -- for example do you find chopping a hole in the ice for water fun? Do you find extreme satisfaction in chopping wood? Do you jump out of bed choppity-chop to clean a barn? Do you chop vegetables in your sleep? Is hanging clothes on the line the thrill of your day? Do you flip your lid over compost and edible weeds?
- Equipped with fabulously proper conversation skills and manners. Piebird is an agritourism operation so you will be running into and chatting with guests who will have questions about the animals, the garden, your beard, your homemade skirt, goat's beards, turkey dancing, ethical veganism, anything you can imagine... Communicating the values of Piebird is important.
- Good at making lists?
Opportunity can grow into a long term living situation and vegan community if you have the right drive, humour, ethics, & endurance -- combined with the perfect balance of something between a forest hermit and a socialite.
Ultimately we are looking into the future to share our land with some like-minded, earth-focused folks who can contribute to the life and business here at Piebird. We haven't fully figured out all of the details but we can hash it out together.

MORE ABOUT PIEBIRD VEGAN FARMSTAY
We are located on a quiet gravel road 3 hours north of Toronto, 1/2 hour south-ish of North Bay, Ontario. The farm property is 8 acres but there is access to our secret 15 acre secret retreat up the secret river via secret canoe. We grow vegetables, seeds, herbs, smiles and rainbows. We do workshops on gardening, canning, yurt building, herbal medicine, vegan baking, compassionate living and the list goes on! In addition to concerts we host our annual Piebird Picnic.
Yan has a big orange beard and refuses to leave the garden, ever. His hobbies include building giant peace signs and starting campaigns to take down evil multi-national corporations.
Sherry kisses every single animal every single time she sees them and makes an obscene amount of vegan cookies. Her hobbies include kissing animals and making obscene amounts of vegan cookies.
The animal friends here include: Sweet William (Billy) the kissing goat, Fernando the dancing turkey, Mighty Pepe the Amazing, Pinky (by day) / Mr. Pinks (by night), Sunshine Daydream (Shmunshmine), Acorn Mustache Man, Flyn baby, Giddy Girl, Other Chicken (Otty), Roy the Rooster, Sadie the smallest goat in the entire world, Wrong-Way GreenLegs and Rosie.
